The llibret (booklet) is the tangible reminder of an ephemeral, ritualistic, and communal celebration in the public space, driven by a collective that keeps the neighborhood and its small businesses alive. However, this collective treasure is threatened by the great monster of capitalism and mass tourism, which crushes neighborhood life. As Gramsci pointed out, "the old world is dying and the new one is slow to appear. And in that chiaroscuro, monsters emerge." The falla embodies this unequal struggle, where children—whose imaginations are still free from the clutches of capitalism—face a titan. In the llibret, this battle between David and Goliath is depicted with the falla's two-tone color scheme: green for the monstrous adults and pink for the free children. It's worth remembering that if things are the way they are, it's because we all have a monster inside. And it's better, as Carl Jung said, to accept and acknowledge it, just as this llibret does.
